What is a Supporters Trust?

A supporters trust is a democratic not-for-profit organisation of supporters, committed to strengthening the decision-making process within their club.

A supporters trust aims through democratic process to strengthen the bonds between the supporters and the Board of Directors, thus giving the supporters a greater say in the running of the club.

A supporters trust is legally registered and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), and can hold assets just like any company can. Any money raised through fundraising activities, donations or any shares bought would belong to all members of the supporters trust and not be held by individuals.
